Al Harris: Multi-sport athlete

Ever hang out at the Boys & Girls Club? Al Harris did. He spent a lot of time playing at the Boys & Girls Club of Pompano Beach, Fla when he was young while both of his parents worked:

“They were my baby sitters,”

Earlier this week, Harris joined fellow teammates kicker Mason Crosby, safety Nick Collins and 2008 draft picks Jordy Nelson, Brian Brohm and Matt Flynn at the 2008 Green Bay Packers Golf Invitational, which helped to benefit Al’s old Boys & Girls Club in Pompano Beach, FL, as well as The Barnett Foundation, which was founded by Nick Barnett’s wife, Amanda.

Al was a part-time performer on the links, as he was a little sore after chasing Roy Williams and Calvin Johnson all over the field last Sunday:

“I love to play when my body feels up to it,” Harris said.

The one hole 3irty1 was excited to play was No. 17 at the Blackwolf Run golf course. The first person to sink a hole-in-one on this hole would receive a $50,000 Corvette. And we all know Al has a thing high-performance cars. Here’s the view of No. 17 from the tee box, looking at the green:

Sadly, no word on any holes-in-one on this day. Not surprising, as you look at that hilly green! But I think it’s safe to say we can give the “best dressed” award to 3irty1. And check out that form!
